Finals Finale

 As this term comes to an end I am reflecting back on what I have learned the last ten weeks. For my retail computer applications class I have gained knowledge about different computer systems and learned how to use twitter, blogger, and excel in a useful way. My twitter page is now up and running and I check it regularly, which I use to not use. I now have this blog site "Pickin' Pieces" as a blog that I developed in class and I feel like I can use excel to my benefit in the real world. We also took a trip to la cantera mall to browse around and look at stores retail systems. This was a fun and interesting trip to experience.

Franchesca's Fashion!

Franchesca's is a cute small scale boutique that has branched out to many cities. Here in San Antonio Franchesca's is located at La Cantera Mall directly across from Barnes and Noble. This cute hip store brings a trendy conservative fashion to young girls and women. They have great dresses, tunics, and tops at afforadable prices. Franchesca's has a amazing jewelry selection and great accessories. I recently purchased a superb outfit from my favorite little boutique! The thing I love most about this hot spot is the great customer service and to die for trends! Currently they are running a sale buy one piece of clothing get the second 50% OFF!!  Be sure and check out this little store when your in the neighborhood!

Apple Monopoly

Apple is the largest growing technology corporation in the United States. As new products enter the technology world Apple is always in charge and leading the way to new generations. Recently I discovered how broad there monopoly system is when I shattered the screen on my phone. After spending numerous hours trying to figure out how to replace the screen the simplest solution is not fixing the screen and replacing the whole phone. This causes me to have to purchase a new IPhone5 along with a new charger and accessories that belong to the new phone. Apple made a smart decision on their part to update the phone with a new charger to create a fixed market that requires customers to have to buy the new chargers as well. This is pure genius on there part, however it makes retail customers like myself upset having to spend extra money on a charger after purchasing a phone.

The Power of Pinterest!

In todays world there are TONS of online sites and apps to help individuals create a style or look for their personal needs and desires. Pinterest is a prime example of the perfect site and app to explore yourself with an online pinboard. Users can browse on pinterest and make their own ideas and examples of rooms in their house, recipes in their kitchens, and outfits in their closets. These online availabilities keep advancing the world of design and fashion beyond belief. Organization 411!

This week I want to blog about something a little different than pickin' the perfect piece out to re vamp and accessorize, but a little about the prep that goes into the first stage in pickin that favorite piece and that is being prepared! Preparation is the most important key to begining a succesful story and for me this is a challenge! I am not always the most organized person with that being said I have had to learn to get myself organized in order to take on the task I have to perform in a timely manner. I have seeked out advice from many others involved in  a fast pace lifestyle, but feel that until you find your secret little tool that helps YOU decide and keep organize it is a hard task at hand. Recently Target became geared up for the back to school mad rush of last minute school shopping. Target took the initative to post a interesting organization article that I found very helpful. Of course they threw in their own great products to show what to use when organizing. The first step is "Don't Waste Time" of course this step is geared for the sleeper inner which im not but I do find myself wasting time by becoming off track. I am not learning to set a timer for all I do. If I spend too much time in a certain area and work past my timer I am getting off track and need to rethink my time. The next step was "Save the Date". Since I've invested in a cheap little calendar I no longer run a day past a deadline or have to reschedule anything. This has also helped me manage my time in a efficent manner. Also my agenda has saved me time, customers, and value. My agenda is more of a broken down calendar by the day when things happen I immediately jot them down in my agenda. I also had to invest in the old fashion style of paper reciepts. This brings us to the next step "The X-Files". I have had to use a style of folder binder that is personal enough to know that my copies of recipts, invoices, and important information are on hand and organized. This has helped me with taxes, billing cycles, and most importantly staying on track. The last step that I used was the "It's In The Bag" step. I constantly carry a bag around with me but have not had it organized in ages. Arranging  my bag with 3 folders has helped me tremendoulsy. I now have a "Things To Do" "In the Works" and "Bills and Receipts" folder. All three of these get used every day and transport the papers I recieve and hand out on the go back to the home filling system. Take organization seriously and help yourself by easily following these steps to get your small company, hobby, or even just your everyday life. This has helped me in school, my cleaning business, pickin' pieces furniture, and every day living....MUCH LOVE!

This weekend was a BLAST...WE PICKED ALL WEEKEND!!! I found some awesome finds and steals to bring home for the gold! Tables, vanities, dressers, end tables and much more made the excursion across Texas with me this weekend. Jacob and I started out early Saturday morning and headed in the Waco direction. We went to Junque in the Trunk and made a great new friend Emily who helped me scout out some great pieces of furniture. From Emily's we made our way out to several areas and found great things along the way. I wish I could pick around EVERYWHERE!! From flea markets to junk stores and blissful boutiques we saw it all this weekend! Get out and PICK!!
